JOB TITLE: CAREER FIRE FIGHTER

SALARY: $37,905 (Salary effective 7/1/05)
SPECIAL TRAINING AND SKILLS: Preference may be given to current City of Farmington Hills Paid on Call Fire Fighters. Applicants must be licensed with the State of Michigan as a Paramedic with an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate at time of hire.
Must have a valid State of Michigan Driver's license with no serious record of misdemeanors, traffic violations, or felony record. Must have 20/20 vision or correctable to that vision level.
EDUCATION: High School graduate or equivalent. Associates Degree preferred. Fire Fighter I and II and BEMT certifications are required at time of application.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Respond with assigned unit to Fire Department incidents; drive, care for and maintain fire apparatus and property; perform clerical duties; participate in fire prevention activities as assigned and perform related work as required. May involve special assignments, such as the EMT Coordinator or Hazardous Materials Coordinator.

NOTICE OF TESTING: The written test will be held on November 28, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. The test will not exceed three hours in duration, and a picture I.D. will be required. Candidates are required to arrive no later than 6:20 p.m. Location and other information will be confirmed in a letter to applicants. The physical ability test will take place in January.
