Here's a way to break up the monotony of a long shift.

Choose a line from a famous movie that doesn't come up in conversation.
I always chose the line from Gladiator, "Are you not entertained?"

Now challenge your partner to work that line into an assessment. It can't be just stated, it has to be worked in somehow.
If they do it, and you do yours, choose again and keep a tally.
The bet is $1 that they can't do it. At the end of shift settle up.

Some other suggestions:
"Where does he get such wonderful toys?"
"Badges? We don't need no stinking badges?"
"Rameses, let my people go!"
"I live my life 1/4 mile at a time."
"Shakespeare is beautiful in it's original Klingon."
"Ever been in a Turkish prison?"
"A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down."

Get creative!
Drop a line if you get one that makes the patient laugh as well.
