This is a brand new class, I was lucky enough to be a member of the very first class, in Georgia, EVER to get certified in Shipboard Fire Fighting. If you live in a port city or anywhere you have docks and wharfs and shipments of various things such as cars, animal feed, and bulk items from overseas, this is a great course to take. I'm not really sure when there will be another class or where, but just wanted to let people know it's out there and what it was called if you would like to take it. It is a very interesting class.

Who taught the class and where did you take it?
It was taught at my rookie school class in Brunswick Georgia. The deputy chief, Harold Herndon, taught it. It was just an awareness class, the ops comes later this year, we hope. DC Herndon is the only instructor certified to teach it so far...
Of course Hal taught it. Why should he let Capt. Poppell get the glory? And did they get NPQ certification for the class like they were talking about last summer when they said they were going to hold it then?
IDK, sorry...I can ask though...
No, don't ask, it's not worth the headaches you will bring onto yourself for asking. I will find out soon enough.
