Hello all Florida Roughnecks (roughnecks is a nicknames for firefighters). My name is Patrick M. Conrey, I'm a D/O of a Ladder Truck in Pinellas County, Fla. Last Spring I attened a Line of Duty Death training seminar. The victim Firefighter Oscar Armstrong III a City of Cincinnati Firefighter died in the line of duty while fighting a residential structure fire. After hearing the stories, reading the reports and watching the video I new I had to do something to HONOR this guy. Being a Firefighter and a Marathon runner this is what I came up with. In May 2008 I plan on running the Cincinnati Marathon (Flying Pig Marathon) in bunker gear (helmet, jack, pants air pack and running shoes). I'm looking to two things donations and a Firefighter crazy enough to join me. A marathon is26.2 miles long. All money raised will go to the children of Firefighter Oscar Armstrong III. At the time of his death he left behind a fiancee, two sons and a daughter on the way! If any one would like to make a donation or run with me please feel free to contact me!
