Had the electro cardioversion done last week. It didn't work, they tried 3 times even at their highest setting, still in constant afib. Will be another 3 weeks before they try some other meds.

Hi all I'm so glad that I'm not the only one with a bad heart doing this.
I started doing wild land with the USFS. When I was 18yr. and at the age of 24 I had to have the Aortic Valve replaced. In Oct of 2003 I had Three (3) Heart atticks # 1 while on the tread mill at the Dr. Office Good for me. The other Two was while I was in the Hospital whating for the Angeogream and One more in Dec. of 2003 and then the worest news of all after 18 years in the Fire servics I was told I had to quit no more stress at all. That was one of the heardest days of my life.

I had 2 heart attacks 5 days apart the end of Feb and first part of Mar 2007 on the second one I was life flighted to the University Hospital in Cleveland. Had 2 stints put in plus an angioplasty done. On a cholesterol drug study program thru the University Hospital. Was doing good till recently when the tiredness, shortness of breath started getting worse. Cardiologist now says I have artial fibrillation. Once they get the blood thinned enough they are going to do electrical cardioversion to get the heart rhythm back in order. I have been on my department for 38 years and the last several years as fire chief. I am overweight, have sleep apnea, have an enlarged heart, diabetic with some congestive heart failure. So outlook is not good as heart disease runs on both sides of my family. There are probably lots of others out there that have heart problems and I know of 3 others just on my department. Everyone stay safe!

I have a big lazy leaky heart... A right atrium enlargement, a lazy IVC and a leak. It sucks, causes difficulty breathing and palpitations, not to mention my resting HR is around 100-120

i also have heart diease. back in feb. i had to have a pfo closer and a stint put in
