For the love of the job
Jeremy "pyro" Phillips

We put ourselves in danger,
day after day,
but you'll never hear us complain,
about the lack of pay,
firefighters and medics know the same,
it's what we do to stay ahead of the game,
we don't do it for money, but the love of the job,
No one would do our job for what we get on pay day,
but that's not why we took this job,
or why we hold our head up high every single day.
the things we see, and the situations we have to do,
sitting on the tailboard, thanking god we made it through,
we walk in to help people, just a face without a name,
once our job is done, we leave as quickly as we came,
back to the station, until the next bell came,
at the end of the day, we hang our gear,
headed home in our vehicles thinking back on the past years,
so many years behind us, do many calls have been run,
but it falls back on our brothers and sisters,
and so many years of fun,
like angels without wings on earth,
so many lives have been touched
so when the call of duty come,
remember walk, fast don't run,
and when our final bell should toll,
remember, we were always home,
