Here's a U tube Of The hand Tub T.W. Lane owned By Members of The B.F. Hoxie Engine Company in Mystic, Connecticut which is a Member of the New England States Veteran Fireman's League (which in itself is over 100 years old) and they have Musters all over New England, NY and beyond the rigs are classed by size and capacity and are pumped as you will see hell bent for Furthest water.... average distances in the mid 200's are average for a rig the size of the Lane (lovingly known as a squirrel tail, the suction hose when stowed looks like a trail of a squirrel, The Brakes ( handles are folded up for transport ) and are manned both outside and inside on both sides .. IF you slip off the brake. stand away if your on the inside cower in place or get wacked ... Typically in firefighting service they werent pumped quite this aggressivly but more for the long term..

I can attest this takes a bit of muscle and is great way to loose 12 to 15 pounds in a day if you choose to pump several tubs.. just be sure to keep hydrated !!!

T.W. Lane @ Newburyport Mass differant angle of attack ...

The Protection @ Waterford Muster
animal Magnitude

this is another Newburyport Mass. rig that wasnt named, I gotta say itmust have been late in the day no feet off the ground... But still intense if I recall its best of 3 attempts and the utubes sorta go along with that , along with making sure the rigs primed and setting the suction, and picking it up, remember when these rigs were used every one had rain buckets , horse troughs and other types of cysterns as well as streams, brooks, Rivers so these rigs were well adapted to being Hand drawn to the scene, finding a water source and being pumped while the hose and playpipe were brought along on a hose reel obviously withLimited resources firefighting was typically defensive protecting the "rest ofthe community"
