As my husband prepared to walk out of the door yesterday his radio blazed with the call of "mayday", our hearts fell as they called for firefighters down. The county next to our town is Rowan, its where Salisbury is. They lost two fine firefighters, the area weeps for the loss. Its never easy for any firefighter to hear this distress call, and I think it hits a firefighters wife the same way. The next week will be funerals and sober moments, never something any of us look forward to. We honor these hereos.
Please keep the families of the fallen in your prayer, and pray also for those airlifted for care at a major medical center.
Our hearts hurt for our neighbors and their loss. I know that I am holding my firefighter a bit closer this weekend. ~Candy
