Using Cell Phones While Driving
Do any of you have a formal written policy regarding the use of cell phones, texting, etc. while driving fire apparatus? I know that in some jurisdictions there are
laws which prohibit the use of cell phones, etc., but in the absence of laws,
do you prohibit the use and how?

Ed, we do not have a written policy yet, But do have the New York laws that say no use calling or texting if the person gets a ticket for this the fine is at least $200 and adds two points on your drivers license , and no the dept will not pay the fine for you

Out here in Arizona, Our ff can't use the cellphone during any active calls. the only person that is allow is the captain. that is why every ff carries a radio for communications.
