Hi! My name is Alyssa and I have been a OCFA fire explorer for the past 4 years. I love the fire service and I'm excited about starting a career serving the community and my country. As a fire explorer, I have had a lot of experiences and training, however, there isn't much discussion about the "real" life of a firefighter. In my agency, there isn't many female firefighters i can talk to. So I was wondering what life is like as a female firefighter. Do you have a boyfriend/husband and how do they feel about you in the fire service? How do you take care of your family while working? Stuff like that...thank you!
