Air Force layoff of federal firefighters

Any truth to the rumour that the Air Force is attepting to lay off a large amount of federal firefighters? If so are we hearing anything being done to head this off?

It's the mindset of the government...doing more with less regardless of the reasons for these cuts. Now hopefully the Unions who are so supportive of this administration will recognize that when the ax falls, even their members won't be spared. Sad but true.
