at my district you can ride from 630 to 9 at night.

Here In Lake Geneva we can go on any calls on rescues we can help but with fire and car accidents we have to stay with IC until the scene is safe. We can ride as many hours as we want per month. Because we are a new post we are all allowed to do ride alongs but starting this month we have to have 6 months probation.

Here in Janesville, WI. you have to be with your post for 6 months and be CPR and First-Aide certified. All I know is that you can only do one ride along every four months.

in Beavercreek we can ride from 0700 to 2200 and i dont know what we are really permitted to do and you do not need any certs

In Los Angeles (LAFD, not LA county FD) we have to complete Engine inventory/certification and have 55 hours of visual ride-along time (staying in Engine on TA/MVA's and Fires, Staying with Capt. On Medical calls)
After this has been completed the Explorer needs 250 hours of Engine time. Then they can get Truck and Pump certified and ride out on the truck and pump after completeing inventory for those Rigs. They can also ride out on the BLS Rescues/Ambulances/Medic (what ever you call them) after 500 hours of engine ride out time and a letter form the EMS Capt.
The Explorers can rideout when ever they would like, as long as they have called a shift before hand and have permission from the Station/Truck Commander (CAPT. II) or Engine Co. Commander (Capt I)

We have a ride-along program for our Post in Knoxville, TN. Being a municipal dept., everything had to be approved by the law dept. which was no easy task. Our members have to pass 14 skills stations including SCBA use, various hose and ladder operations, tools recognition, etc. They and their parents must then sign an injury release waiver and go through a ride-along with me. There are strict guidelines for riding the members must adhere to. They can ride the entire 24 hour shift during summers, weekends and school holidays. They are limited to two rides per station and a total of 6 rides per month. We had to put this in place because one Explorer spent 20 shifts in a row one month!!!! The last thing we want is to jeopardize this benefit we have worked so hard to get. If you would like, I can send a copy of our requirements and regs on ride-alongs to you.

in ma department i can ride on any calls do everything but cant go into a burnin build yet well since im the only j.f.f i can ride along for am to 11 at night

lake geneva wi? thats close the where i live (janesville) but i know a couple guys at lake geneva though

Here in Loudonville explorers can go on any calls except mutual aid calls, to ride explorers need to be 16 years old and have a 11 core topic sheet all signed off and some explorers have CPR and First-Aid and AED certified and they also need to know somewhat about the engine and truck and the brush fire truck. Explorers can ride the full 12 hour shift which is from 6pm-6am
