EMS here does not offer turnout gear. Been trying for 10 years to change that. I finally started taking my fire gear with me on shift.

since most ppl on my dept run both ems and fire we all are issued turnout gear. for those who dont run want to be a firefighter but just ems they are issued blue turnouts. everyones req to have them on at all fire and mva's i have to say the ems guys complained about em untill they were doin pt care at an mva with entrapment and rubbed on some nice jagged metal. they would have been in alot more hurt had they not had that on.
