The City of Wilmington is the only fully paid Fire Company in Delaware. All other companies are volunteer, but almost every company that has a BLS unit(s) has some paid employees. The employees duties vary from company to company but generally speaking their first priority is staffing the BLS unit then some also serve as Firefighters when needed if the volunteers are unable to get a full crew. Any job you do apply for other then City of Wilmington will require you to have at minimum your Delaware EMT-B. If you are still interested I could do some research on any current openings.

The beach resorts in Delaware such as Lewes, Rehobeth, and Millvile companys hire a lot of E.M.T's. They Can also ride as firefighters to alarms...all three companies have websites if you look em up.
