NIMS 400 class

FYI!! Another "Free" training class and we all know how free training classes go in our county, but I'll put this out there anyway. The final, "scheduled" NIMS 400 class by the EMA, will be Sat. Dec. 12 and Sun. Dec. 13th at the EMA Office in Lisbon. Classes run from 8-4 and lunch is on your own. Anyone needing the 400 class should call the EMA at 300-424-9725 and let them you are coming. Like I said this is the last 400 class that has been scheduled for our county. If you need it, better take this opportunity! Thanks for listening. Stay Safe!!

Willie I am in the 240 class. on that saturday. Is there any 400 classes set up for next year? Or is this the last class that the will be put on

That is the last one that I know of that has been scheduled, I hope that we can get enough for this class or the ones that are committed will be screwed!

I will miss this one sadly due to 240 class. rob be nice to tim.. if not for him and his shovel how would you ever walk threw the 5 inches of snow that is up to your waist

It seems that nothing changes when it comes to training in Columbiana County to the fact that some do not take it seriously. The final NIMS 400 class was held this past weekend with "4" people in attendance. We did have the courtesy of 3 other firefighters that wanted to take the class, but because of their work schedules and other mandatory training, were unable to attend, Thanks! for letting us know, it was greatly appreciated and totally understandable. I guess this class turned out better that the previous one of a week or so back, as "NO ONE" showed up for that one, except for the instructor. Anyway, it has been previously stated that there are "No NIMS Police", well a lot of FD's and other agencies are going to get a rude awakening when they go for funding and find out that they are going to be denied for lack of documentation of being NIMS compliant. With funding drying up, the hoops that you are going to have to jump thru is getting more strict! This is not a joke anymore as some my think that it is!

Willie i wish we knew the answer to make people follow threw. it is very sad that it happens again and again. when everyone will be begging to get it when the time comes the nims police show up. i couldnt miss any more 240 class time or i would of been there.. what if we start making people pay a deposit to show up for calls put on by the lepc and ema. if you no show then you no get your money back. if you show then its refunded.

I was one of the four in attendance and while some of this is truly out of our leauge you always pick up something out of these classes that you can learn. If an incident that large took place at least you know whats going on and how the feds are operating.

As for the cash for class program Max all that would happen is less turnout and less signup. How they going to signup and maybe lose money if the training thats offered now is totally FREE??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

thats just it tim its free to us NOT to lepc or ema. they pay alot of money for this county to WASTE an instuctors time. why should they continue to set up and pay for classes people blow off. when i took my 300 there was 8 people who didnt show up. we had to cancell our 400 class its sad this county is such a joke when it comes to training.. if you sign up for something show up for it. honestly they couldnt pick up a phone 2 or 3 days ahead of time and called to say i cant make it.. if your department has some $$ on the line i am willing to bet that people who sign up for classes will actually show up or only the poeple who truly want to take them and learn from them will sign up

I took my 300 class in Minerva a few weeks ago that was put on by our ema and was the only one from our county there the other 12 were from Stark and Carrol. Ive been to Carrol County for alot of different trainings and speakers and if you dont get there early your lucky to find aseat? If you think were rural come with me sometime down to one of there county meetings. I dont know what they do to turn the people out but they do.
