After I finished New Recruit class, and I was a green dot. I was only on for maybe a month or two. Got a call to an old age home, alarm bells. Well as I was grabbing my gear, the guys yelled at me to just jump in the truck. I remember "It's a false alarm" as they yelled at me. Well going against my better judgement, I did what I was told. Guess you can figure out that it was not a false alarm. Well no one had there gear, and it was not a roaring fire.
But only a pot on the stove with lots of smoke. Let me tell yea, I did get my
butt chewed out by our DC who was also one of the Trainers at the New Recruit classes. He yelled at me stating I should know better as I just finished.
Keeping my mouth shut, not blaming anyone else but myself. In fact there was no one else to blame but myself. I made that choice of listening to others when I knew better.
