When I started on with my department, I felt like my life's goal was to be a firefighter.  After finishing my academic work and being stationed, I was captivated by firefighting.  Now that I've been in-station for 4 years, I've taken a lot of various classes, and I couldn't be more bored with being a firefighter than I am right now.  Fighting large fires don't thrill me much anymore, it just makes me exhausted and bored.  Am I doing something wrong?  Isn't there more to my career than what I'm seeing right now?  Where's the challenge that was there when I got on?  And most of all, what can I do to bring back the "rush" of being a firefighter?
