As a former USAF FF, we always wore the full hood on the crash side. I've noticed though that at least at my former base, they are no longer being used. I've heard that is because it was very difficult to wear a BA with the hood.(It was) Yesterday though I saw video of the emergency landing at LAX and there were the hoods and no BAs. Curious me.

wow, they must be the last of the bunch. Hoods is practicly non existant.
Infact, I know of depts being fined for having them. To restrictive on visibility, resulting in a safety hazard.
thats why AirForce disgarded them 13 years ago, or slowly phased out.
Hey Jay, I am a Civilian for the 128th ARW in Milwaukee. As civilians we don't wear the hood on the helmet. I know that when the guard guys go down to places like Silver Flag they are wearing them. I used to work fo rthe 115th and the Chief there made everyone wear them.
