First of all, hello from Alva.
Yes, contrary to rumors, we do have a paid department out here encompassing 39.5 sq. miles. Some of you may not have heard of us (LoL), but we're here.

Now that that has been established, I just wanted to welcome everbody to the group. I don't want this to be just a generic forum, but a means of communication between ourselves---off the record. Keep in mind this is NOT a secure website, but if you have any concerns or issues you feel need to be aired, let me/us know.

Many of the departments in our area belong to IAFF Local 1826; we, at Alva, do not. However, if you have union-related issues, please voice those, too- as they may alert your fellow FFs/EMTs to the same goings on.
