Hey man you know I'm all about training, and after talking with several volunteers in the county, there are only a few that conduct the refresher burn in the way it should be done. On that thought, only a few of them do may-day drills at the same time. We have done this on the last to training burns that we had and it has really helped the volunteers in our department to gain a better understanding of a true may-day and what it takes to rescue someone from a building. As physically demanding as it is to bring them out of the burn building, they now understand some what how hard it would be if they were placed in a real situation, with one of there own fellow firefighters go down.

Thanks to all the members from Salem Fire Department and Keowee-Ebenezer Fire Department that showed up for our refresher training burn last night. Think it was a great learning experience for some and glad that everyone attended.
