Thought we could start a thread to introduce ourselves...
My Name is Lawrence Webster and I have been a Volunteer Firefighter for 12 years (and counting...). While I have moved through several stations, I have found my most recent home with the Hurlock Volunteer Fire Co. Inc. in Dorchester County, Maryland. I serve there as a firefighter.
Professionally, I am a Deputy Fire Marshal in the private sector. I spend days trying to keep up with welding and other Hot Work operations, review plans and keep the engineers in line with NFPA codes, mostly life safety. I am a Industrial Fire Brigade Team Leader, and teach many of the training sessions and classes required for our Fire Brigade. I also teach our employee base several courses for the lay responders such as Fire Extinguishers, Evac Chairs, and other courses.
I have worked in the private sector all of my career, Private Ambulance in the beginning, and later moving to Industrial Fire Protection and Emergency Response, including Fire and Haz-Mat, but my heart truly lies with serving people, be it the employees at work, my family or my community.
