Woman hit by car, killed 7-12-09
Lysander, New York (WSYR-TV) – Investigators are still trying to figure out why a Lysander woman was lying in the road on Route 48, Monday morning, before a pick up truck struck and killed her.
Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Route 48, just north of Kellogg Road, around 2:40 Monday morning. When they arrived, they found a 31-year-old Lysander woman dead in the road.
She was struck and killed by a 2002 Ford F-150 pick up truck driven by an Oswego man. He was on his way home from work with two co-workers, when he unexpectedly saw the woman lying across the roadway.
He wasn’t able to avoid hitting her. Once he struck her, he immediately stopped his vehicle and called 911.
Sheriff's Deputies say the driver will not be charged or ticketed in the accident.
