CLARKSVILLE, Md. (WUSA) -- A spokesperson for the Howard County Fire Department told 9News Now that three construction workers were injured Friday when a stable under construction collapsed in Howard County.
Battalion Chief Gordon Wallace said firefighters were called to the 5600 block of Chambliss Drive, in Clarksville, Md., at 10:15 a.m. for a report of a building collapse.
When firefighters arrived they found the trusses of a riding stable that was under construction had collapsed at the Marama Farms.
Wallace said three workers who were on top of the trusses when they fell were taken to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, in Baltimore, with non-life threatening injuries.
Eight other workers who were on the ground were evaluated, Wallace said, but did not need to be transported.
The cause of the collapse is under investigation.
