LEVITTOWN, Pa. - Police say a suspicious fire at a homeless encampment outside Philadelphia has left a woman dead.

Police in say the woman was on fire Sunday morning when firefighters arrived on the at the homeless encampment in Bristol Township, about 20 miles northeast of Philadelphia. The woman was transported to a hospital with burns and later succumbed to her injuries.

Authorities say a shelter at the site was also destroyed.

Bristol Township police say they are investigating the woman's death. An autopsy is pending.
