Woman, child killed in NC house fire

A North Carolina woman and child have died after a fire at their home that investigators describe as suspicious.

The Fayetteville Observer reported the fire occurred Wednesday morning at a mobile home near Elizabethtown. Bladen County Chief Deputy Sheriff Phil Little says investigators haven't determine the cause of the fire.

Little wouldn't say where the bodies were found in the home. He says he doesn't know if the home had smoke detectors.

Authorities didn't release the victims' names because their families haven't been notified.
