Witness Intimidation Likely Cause Of Rhode Island Apartment Fire

PAWTUCKET, R.I. - The Pawtucket fire chief says it's too soon to say whether an intense fire at a triple-decker home was arson, but a tenant in the building says he believes it was set to intimidate him to keep him from testifying about a home invasion.

The blaze was reported Wednesday morning. There were no reported injuries.

Fire Chief William Sisson tells The Providence Journal he won't yet call the fire suspicious.

But Bennert Agyemang, who lives in the building, tells the newspaper he had been the victim of a home invasion previously and was in court Wednesday to testify about it. He says he got a call while he was in court telling him that his apartment was on fire.

He says he will not be intimidated.
