That would be me !!! Not just my town, but probably the whole county. I know you wanted EMS out of it, but I run both Fire and EMS, so I guess Im really "WHACKED". I run my POV to ALL med calls as a Emergency Medical Responder, previosly called " First Responder". I dont run in the ambulance for I am not an EMT. I get there before the ambulance, and do assesments, vitals, etc...Then I run my POV to the Fire Station from work, home, or wherever I may be, because we are a Volly Dept. Now despite what most may think, I do not drive 120 mph, run red lights or stop signs. We dont even have a stop light in the county !!! I have on many occasions been escorted by law enforcement to scenes, but I still dont drive as fast as they do. If I win the Whacker of the year award, do I get a plaque or something???
We have one who has a full size blue strobe light bar on top. complete w/ takedowns, alley, and front scene. a dash light, ( I saw this in passing, not sure what style this was), and as we were putting the ambulance back together, he was mounting grille lights. He is a member of 2 departments that I know of. Great guy, but whacker through and through.
I am a wacker and proud of it i am a junior fireman for a volley dept in pa so i was automatically a wacker ok so some of you guys it seems to me like you think we are a threat why just because i get up at 2 am for a lift asst i think wackers are a good thing and why is because if you use them right they can be a big help they are usually the ones to come to all the calls and trainings now this is what i was told a wacker was somewon how is crazy about the job and i dont see a problem with that.

I would assume you are talking about me?....well it just might be true, after all, I am addicted to this website, and spend most of my winter layed off... at the fire house, waiting for a call, and cleaning the rigs.
I would like to vote on this one.....It would be me....LOL I have strobes in my headlights and tail lights(Only slightly illegal) and a dash master on my dash....finishing up my Fire Investigation hours then I'm supposed to run RED lights for calls.....But I do it responsibly and Last year responded to more than 87% of our calls.....so bad....? maybe....but good...? Yes, I think so.....Thanks...stay safe and remember to keep the faith......Paul
