Actually we extricated one with the tools and the other 3 were rapid extrication.
My advice to you is plan for the big one. It wil happen and as a department you will have to prepare for it. I live in a military town so that is kind of close to a college town, we have lots of young kids that make bad decisions everyday. But as a provider that is your job. With it being a military town we deal with outside agencies every day when we have a plan crash EVERYONE wants to be involved......that will trueley test your courage and training, plane crashes with one or two patients no big deal for the service.....because of training........ but a big deal with all, have a car wreck with 8-10 fatals it is no big deal with nightly news and a mention of the crash. Never understand it just have to do the job.
We do a lot of training with extrication of all sort but do to this we were called in as mutial aid to our City Department. It really went smooth for what we had at the initial time for the first arriving crews.
Man that was terrible. 3 teenagers dead at the scene. That would be a tough one for anybody. Keep your chin up and things will get better man. I'm sorry your dept. had to deal with this one.
