Myself and the cheif have been trying to find how much water does nfpa recommend to have on scene for a motor vehicle accident.  If anyone could help me out with this information that would be great..  Thanks for the help.

We roll to every MVA with an engine (1500 gallons) and a tanker (small tanker 2400 gallons) Never had a problem......LOL
You need enough water to handle an auto fire. Every once in awhile, they do catch on fire. On serious calls pull a charged line and if staffing permits keep it staffed. Also keep a dry chem. extinguisher close by.
We roll our pumper and brush unit on all MVA's. Pull out the 1 1/2 line and an extinguisher.
