SPOKANE, Wash. - A man escaped serious injury Thursday when a Spokane house he was preparing to move shifted, trapping him.

Neighbor Geno Cushen says the man's wife purchased the house and he had been working alone to jack it onto steel beams for transport. But the house apparently shifted and collapsed onto what was left of the foundation.

Spokane Fire Department Assistant Chief Brian Schaeffer says the "very lucky" man was trapped between the foundation and the house, but not pinned.

The Fire Department technical rescue team arrived and lifted the house, freeing the unidentified man.
