(AP) CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.

A warehouse has caught fire in south-central Kentucky but officials say firefighters brought the blaze under control within three hours.

Taylor County Emergency Management spokesman Ronnie Dooley says the fire started at a former Fruit of the Loom plant in Campbellsville just after 5 a.m. EST on Tuesday.

Dooley told The Courier-Journal of Louisville that there were no reports of injuries or rescue, but a nearby day care was evacuated.

Dooley said there was a loud explosion that could be heard from about half a mile away.

Dooley says parts of the plant are leased out for storage, but he did not know what was being stored in the shipping area.

The cause is under investigation. The Fruit of the Loom plant closed in 1998.
