RICHMOND, Va. - Authorities are investigating a deadly house fire in Chesterfield County that killed a mother and her 12-year-old son.



Media outlets report that the fire on Wrens Nest Road was reported shortly after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Fire officials say a witness driving by reported the fire. The witness told dispatchers the father jumped from a second-story window.

The father suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital. His name and condition haven't been released.

The names of the 46-year-old mother and the boy also haven't been released.

The cause of the fire hasn't been determined.
