KENOSHA, Wis. - An explosion has leveled a house in Kenosha (ken_OH'-shah).

Authorities say no one was hurt in the blast overnight Monday.

Battalion Chief John Poltrock says the house was vacant when the explosion occurred just before midnight. He says numerous homes in the area were also damaged, including many with broken windows.

Poltrock says firefighters contained a resulting fire in the house.

We Energies temporarily shut off gas to about 15 homes in the area.
