(AP) SIOUX CITY, Iowa

Fire has destroyed a historic warehouse in downtown Sioux City.

The fire at the Bekins Storage building was reported at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday by several people who saw flames and smoke in the brick building.

The roof collapsed before firefighters could get the fire under control.

Fire officials say the building was vacant and no injuries were reported.

Officials say the building was owned by State Steel. The original owner, Bekins Moving and Storage, started their Sioux City headquarters in 1981.

The fire is under investigation.
