DAYTON, Ohio - A fire that caused heavy damage to a house on an Ohio college campus is being called suspicious by fire investigators.
The home at the University of Dayton was vacant for the summer when it went up in flames after 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. Heat from the fire melted siding on two neighboring houses, which also were empty.
No injuries were reported.
Dayton District Fire Chief Vincent Wiley says the fire is considered suspicious and arson investigators were called in because there were no electrical issues with the house.
It's owned by the university and rented out to students during the academic year.
Authorities say the fire caused at least $13,000 damage.
