SALT LAKE CITY - A fire destroyed a house in Eureka, Utah, leaving a family of four homeless.

Juab County Sheriff's deputy Brent Pulver says in a news release the fire started about 4:30 Sunday morning.

The four people in the home escaped through a basement window and suffered only minor injuries.

Pulver says the home was destroyed. The fire is being investigated but does not seem suspicious.

Red Cross of Utah spokeswoman Teresa Zundel says in a release the four people were a mother and three children, ages 10, 16 and 22. The Red Cross is providing them assistance.

Eureka is about 75 miles south of Salt Lake City.
