U.S. Fire Administration
The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official line of duty death of Captain Carl Nordwall, 56, of the Norfolk Airport Fire Department on October 6, 2009.
While he and his crew were participating in shift change and roll call, Captain Nordwall complained of not feeling well and collapsed. Medical assistance (CPR/AED) was rendered immediately by fellow firefighters and Nordwall was transported to the hospital. Despite all efforts of medical personnel, Captain Nordwall succumbed to his injury several days later.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, VA - (757) 340-1717.
