U.S. Fire Administration

The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official line of duty death of Firefighter John Polimine, 51, or the Scalp Level and Paint Volunteer Fire Department on May 1, 2010.

Firefighter Polimine suffered a heart attack and collapsed after finishing a fire-suppression session at the Cambria County Fire School. Polimine and others were in a basic essentials class for firefighters, with multiple stations and tasks, including interior firefighting operations. Firefighter Polimine was treated at the scene and then transported to the Miners Medical Center where he passed away.
