Back in my full-time EMS days in New Orleans. I was the on-duty rescue officer when I was dispatched on a call for a child in distress. Upon arrival at the scene, it turned out to be an approximately 8 year-old boy who had gotten his head stuck in a set of burglar bars. It turned out that he was not in any respiratory distress or had any injuries. He was simply just stuck. I got some tools off of the rescue truck and spread the bars wide enough to free his head. His mother thanked us and then proceeded to mete out "maternal justice" on the child. That was definitely one of the more unique and humorous calls in my career.
