MACOMB, Ill. - Authorities in western Illinois say a 2-year-old girl has been killed in a house fire.

Macomb Fire Chief Andy Taylor says firefighters pulled young Aryanna Inman from a second-story bedroom at the home. The child was taken to McDonough District Hospital before being transferred to Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, where she died Monday.

Taylor says he believes the fire started in the bedroom where the girl was found. He says the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

It's the second fatal fire in Macomb in about a month that involved a child. On Sept. 24, officials say a fire apparently started by a candle killed two children _ 6-year-old Austin Smith and 4-year-old Mindy Smith.
