Firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze at an apartment complex in southwest Houston early this morning.
The fire broke at the residential community in the 10300 block of Wilcrest near South about 6:45 a.m., fire officials said. Firefighters had the blaze under control about 30 minutes later.
The flames raced along the roof of one of the apartment buildings as firefighters fought to get the upper hand on the fast-moving blaze.
No injuries were reported.
Fire officials said at least eight apartments were badly damaged and one or two others were moderately damaged in the blaze.
The fire spread through the common attic of the building.
Investigators are trying to determine what cause the fire.
