LONDONDERRY, N.H. — Firefighters in New Hampshire say two people are missing follow an early morning house fire in the town of Londonderry.
Fire Chief Kevin MacCaffrie says it was reported about 4:20 a.m. by someone inside.
There were six people in the house when the fire broke out. Four made it out and were treated for smoke inhalation. Missing are a woman and her adult daughter.
MacCaffrie says that when firefighters arrived, two floors were in flames and that firefighters tried to hold a staircase as an escape route. But the intensity of the fire prevented it.
The fire leveled the colonial-style home. All that remains is a garage with a great room on top of it.
Firefighters from a number of area towns helped fight the blaze on Hemlock Street.
