NEW YORK - Two firefighters and three civilians have been injured in a fire at a four-story Brooklyn apartment building.


Fire officials say the 3-alarm fire erupted on the second floor of 1142 Lenox Road at 6:03 a.m. It was under control at 7:13 a.m.

One of the tenants suffered serious injuries and was in critical condition. The other injuries were minor. All five were transported to Brookdale Hospital.

Fire officials did not immediately now how many residents were evacuated from the building.
