NEW YORK (AP) -- Two New York City firefighters are in stable condition after falling while fighting a warehouse fire.
The Fire Department of New York says three firefighters in total were hurt. They say the injuries are minor. It was not immediately clear how the third firefighter got hurt.
FDNY spokesman Frank Dwyer tells the New York Times that two men are at Elmhurst Hospital Center with head injuries. He says one of them also had a broken arm.
Dwyer says the men fell as they battled the fire inside the Queens warehouse in the Maspeth section.
Dozens of firefighters responded to the three-alarm blaze on 49th Street on Tuesday. The fire was called in about 8 p.m.
An FDNY official says that the fire is "stubborn." The fire was still being brought under control early Wednesday.
