TAMPA BAY AREA - Two people were killed in overnight fires in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties.



A two-alarm fire claimed a life in Clearwater shortly after 5 a.m..

Firefighters were called to a home at 2112 Bell Cheer Drive near Belcher and Druids Roads.

According to initial reports, a woman and a child were able to escape the blaze.

Investigators confirm one death, a male, but the victim has not been identitfied The cause of the fire is under investigation. It appears it may have started in the garage area.

Firefighters in Hillsborough County were called to a blaze at a mobile home at 542 Auxerre Circle in Seffner.

They received the call around 3:20 a.m.

Authorities say one person died in the fire. No name has been released and the cause of the blaze is unknown at this point.
