MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Authorities say two people were found dead inside a two-story home that caught fire overnight in Memphis.

Memphis Fire Department Battalion Chief Keith Staples says the bodies of a man and a woman were found by firefighters after they searched the home early Thursday. Their cause of death is pending an autopsy.

Fire crews arrived at the wood frame home at 1:30 a.m. and put the fire under control about one hour later. More than 60 emergency personnel responded to the scene.

One firefighter burned his hand and was taken to a hospital in non-critical condition.

It is not immediately clear if there was a working fire detector in the home. Damage estimates are pending.
