LOS ANGELES - Twin teen boys, one reportedly with Down syndrome, have died in a Los Angeles apartment blaze.

The mother grabbed a 2-year-old boy and managed to escape flames that swept through the southwest Crenshaw area apartment at about 3:13 a.m. Thursday.

Fire spokesman Devin Gales says firefighters rescued a 5-year-old girl and a 7-year-old girl.

The bodies of the twin 15-year-old boys were found inside. A neighbor says on of the twins had Down syndrome, but Gales couldn't confirm that report.

It took 21 minutes to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire hasn't been determined.
