The fire that began at a Dunkin' Donuts shop Thursday morning spread to a winemaking shop and threatened other businesses in the suburb just north of Indianapolis.
WTHR reported employees arrived around midnight and first called firefighters two hours later after spotting smoke. Firefighters checked out the building and left, allowing people back into the building, but workers saw more smoke around 4:15 and called firefighters again.
Local television reports showed flames and thick smoke rising from the fire more than three hours later. Part of the doughnut shop had collapsed, and Indianapolis firefighters joined the effort to extinguish the fire.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.

Carmel is a town that borders the north side of indianapolis. It's just across the county line. I like many on IFD and the surrounding Dept. know guys at CFD. One of our Trucks was on this fire.
On the intial call the workers told arriving crews that. They smelled smoke, there was no mention of seeing smoke.
However we are busting the guys balls over this, the ribbing will continue. Until someone else screws up or we run out of things to say on texts and phone calls. But with over 1140 guys on IFD. It's safe to say we'll be doin it for a while. There are other depts. in the area that i'm sure will be doing the same.
Since the Dunken Donuts was a loss, the Local Police Departments have placed mourning bands on there badges. A spokesman for the Local FOP stated that grief counsilors will be made avaliable to any officer that feels they need the help.
