SANDY, Utah - A fire official is calling a Utah sports products warehouse a total loss after a three-alarm blaze in Sandy.

No one was believed to have been in the building, and no injuries were reported after firefighters doused flames early Thursday at the Sportsman's Outdoor Products building near 9400 South and 700 West.

Sandy Battalion Chief Chris Dawson tells the Salt Lake Tribune the roof collapsed and walls are damaged. He estimates damage at more than $1 million.

There was no immediate word what caused the fire. It was reported about 4:45 a.m., and it took about 50 firefighters from Sandy, Midvale, West Jordan, Murray and the regional Unified Fire Authority almost two hours to bring it under control.

Nearby buildings including several homes were evacuated during the fire.
