NEW YORK - Officials say five people, including three firefighters, were injured in an apartment fire in Manhattan. None of the injuries is believed to be life-threatening.
Fireman Hugh Giffords of the New York Fire Department says crews responded to the fire at the six-story brick building in Chelsea around 11 p.m. Monday.
Giffords say three firefighters suffered minor injuries.
He says two civilians were taken to the hospital. One was hospitalized in serious condition and the other was treated for smoke inhalation.
Giffords says five people at the scene refused medical treatment.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The extent of the damage wasn't immediately known.
